This course is comprised of seven sessions. Sessions 1, 3, and 5 will be feature Sue Meyer from Apple. Sue will help leaders understand their role in building a future ready culture at their school. Sue has many years of experience with both Apple and in school systems. Her sessions will occur from 2-5 p.m. and will be held at Pacific Crest Middle School.
Sessions 2, 4, and 6 will be led by our own instructional technology team. These sessions will be from 8-10 a.m. in the Innovation Lab, room 200 of the Ed Center. The focus of these sessions will be to provide administrators with practical tools and training to support communication, collaboration and academic success with their staff and students.
Session 7 will be a field experience. Participants will visit several different schools and classrooms to observe future ready teaching in action. Discussion and feedback after each observation will occur. The final project will be the posting of a Future Ready school goal with identified upstream measures for attaining that goal.
In addition to the seven sessions participants will also read Innovator's Mindset by George Couros and will be expected to interact with other classmates via the course blog.
